I've undeniably stopped listening to OPM since the latter half of last year. The music scene was so dry and so basically, the music was not-so-good either as to when I dearly loved it. The songs were overrated as if the melody was repeated with every song I hear. I hated it then; But I forced myself not to. I didn't want my love for OPM just pass. I didn't want it to be wasted; But I was not able to control myself anymore. It ended. The burning fire was put out to soon.
Rock was in season then. I too was a fan. Head bangs and screams were very normal to me. I can name every band there is. Better yet, I was able to name every member of bands. But things changed when rock wasn't my cup of tea, when K-pop popped in the scene and I got engaged with it. Head bangs turned into dance and screams turned to upbeat. Now, I easily get irritated with songs containing screams. There was such a huge gap among the two. Maybe I was tired with lonesome performances of bands and got hooked with groups instead. The fellow strumming a guitar didn't have sparks anymore; But the thirteen men were splendid.
Now I know what it feels like loving a foreign artist and leaving what's suppose to be patronized, behind. It's quite a shame to face local artists now. It's almost like betraying your blood. But you can't teach me. I've been there before, but you didn't serve me good.
It's a good thing there are still good artists now. To name a few, there's Erik Santos and Richard Poon. Some says they both suck, but I like them. Who cares? Sponge Cola, Hale, Urbandub and 6cyclemind also joins the wagon.
